Crispy Tofu Stir-Fry



This tasty and filling stir-fry of crispy tofu and wholesome vegetables is a great way to start the day. The colorful assortment of vegetables adds crunch and freshness, and the tofu is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. A tasty way to enjoy tofu, finished with a savory sauce!

Ingredients:

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions:

Coat the tofu cubes evenly with cornstarch by tossing them in a bowl

Combine the vegetable oil, sesame oil, and soy sauce in a different bowl

Tofu cubes should be heated in a big skillet over medium-high heat for five to seven minutes, or until golden and crispy

Take out of the skillet and place aside

Add the carrot, bell pepper, broccoli, and garlic to the same skillet

Stir-fry the vegetables for 34 minutes, or until they are crisp-tender

Add the green onions, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha sauce to the skillet with the tofu once again

Cook for a further two minutes, stirring slowly to blend flavors

Over cooked rice, serve the crispy tofu stir-fry
