Easy Orange Chicken with Brown Rice
This simple orange chicken recipe combines the sour taste of oranges with the salty taste of soy sauce and honey to make a tasty sweet and salty dish. It's a healthy meal that's great for a quick dinner during the week, served over brown rice.
Ingredients:
- 2 chicken breasts, diced
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups cooked brown rice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions:
The sauce is made by whisking orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and cornstarch together in a bowl
Add salt and pepper to the diced chicken breasts
Put vegetable oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat
It will take about 5 to 6 minutes of cooking after adding the chicken to the pan until it is browned and fully cooked
Add the sauce that you just made to the chicken and let it cook for about two to three minutes, until the sauce gets thicker
Put the orange chicken on top of brown rice that has been cooked
Before serving, top with sliced green onions
